The Schlossmühle was one of the first buildings in the Glottertal valley. The walls of our house can now look back on more than 900 years of history. The characteristic half-timbered structure was built around 1800. Today, the historic part of the house is a listed building.

Here you can experience a Black Forest vacation in the unique atmosphere of a heritage site. In our heritage hotel rooms you are right in the middle of it all. Where you find our esszimmer, wohnzimmer and the stube today has always been the center of activity: in the past, the millstone turned here, driven by the water power of the Glotter. The house was built as a flour mill for the Glottertal castle - schlossmühle means the "castle mill". Later, the house was also used as a bakery and the flour was processed directly on site - local sourcing at its best! To this day, you can still find a pretzel in the sandstone door frame of the half-timbered house. The later use of the house as a wainwright's workshop and cooperage can also still be seen on the door frame: The round notch on the right-hand side was used to retrieve the barrels made here for Glottertäler wine.

The Mack-Gutmann family has been running the Schlossmühle in the name of hospitality since 1951. Initially only as a wine tavern, later as a fine restaurant and from 1983 also as a hotel. Since 2024, the hospitality tradition has entered a new round: In the fourth generation and with a new lean-luxury concept, Hansjörg Gutmann and his team now welcome you.
